As I stated in yesterday's post, Vamp Week (that's what us friends of the band call them) have a new album coming out in mid-May. Modern Vampires of the City is the name of the album and it is highly anticipated by cool people everywhere. People like me, 'cause I'm COOL.
Well I don't know what else to say, so watch this cool lyric video and then watch the video from yesterday where I say some other words.
Vampire Weekend has a new album coming out mid-May. Modern Vampires of the City will be their third studio album after the critically acclaimed self titled album (2008) and Contra (2010). I am pretty excited for the new album because I enjoy their poppy indie tunes. Here is one of the two singles from the new album. The video for "Diane Young" is more gif-like than it is video-like, but the video isn't really important. Just listen to the song. Tomorrow with be the second single from the album, "Step". Get excited because "Step" has a more exciting lyric video and is an awesome song.
If you are one of five people, you may remember us posting a Starfucker song over one year ago. "Bury Us Alive" is from their 2011 album, Reptilians. In preparation of their new album, Miracle Mile (Feb. 19th, Listen to "Say to You" ), I have been re-listening to Reptilians and remembering why I ever listened to it more than once. Because it's awesome.
Today's Song of the Day is "Julius". Watch the video below. Two young teens go medieval on each other for the love of a girl. It gets pretty dark near the end. Heads are chopped off. Horses trample towns people. People are sunburned pretty bad. It's an all out massacre.
Not really. The good one beats the bad one and he gets the girl.
STRFKR - "Julius"
This song has a very trippy video. Watch at your own risk. The song itself is pretty far out there, so also be prepared for that. It's surprisingly very catchy and the lyrics are very touching.
There isn't much that I feel I need
A solid soul and the blood I bleed
With a little girl, and by my spouse
I only want a proper house
I don't care for fancy things
Or to take part in the vicious race
But to provide for mine who ask
I will, with heart, on my father's grave
I don't mean to seem like I care about material things
Like our social stats
I just want four walls and adobe slats for my girls

Animal Collective is known for their "experimental psychedelic, noise pop, indie rock, electronica". "My Girls" is from their 2009 hit album Merriweather Post Pavilion. If you enjoy this track be sure to check them out more on Youtube or Amazon.

The Denmark artist MØ has been sweeping the indie music blog circuit the past few months and it started mostly with "Pilgrim". It has the right amount of horns, a catchy chorus, and the music video is oddly mesmerizing. Oh, and the clapping, can't forget the clapping.
She just recently came out with a new track titled "Glass". Listen to that over on Listen Before You Buy.
